  • Medication
  • Behaviour Management
  • Equal Opportunities

  • Child Protection
  • Health and Safety (including Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and Outings policy)
  • Special Needs

Sickness and Medication

We ask that you do not bring your child into nursery if they are suffering from any of the following:

  • Infectious illness, e.g. chicken pox
  • A high temperature
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea (should not attend for at least 48 hours after the last episode)*
  • Antibiotics (exclusion time to be set by child’s GP or the nursery can contact the Health Protection Agency for advice)
  • Eye infections

* Gastro-enteritis (tummy bugs) are highly contagious and we ask that parents/carers allow sufficient time for their child to recover at home, thus preventing the spread of infection to other children, staff and parents.

Please note that we can only administer medicine to your child that has been prescribed by a Doctor. We also require prior written consent from you, our staff will then store your medicine safely and administer it at the required times to the correct dose. We will keep a record of this and ask you to sign the record when you collect your child from nursery.
